The Author

Desmond Michael Coverley, Ph.D. was born in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands. He graduated from Blue Water Bible College in 1972 with a degree in Religious and Christian Education. For eight years, he served as pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Grand Turk and founder of Grand Turk Christian Academy. He came to the US in 1980 where he completed his Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). He completed the Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant at Howard University in 1987 and the Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at UDC in 1993. Between the years 1980 to 1993, he was engaged in a prophetic teaching at the Bible Study Ministries of Maryland, a prophetic teaching ministry which he founded in the 1980s. He returned to his home country in 1993 and shared the same prophetic teachings of the Bible, in the newly established Bible Study Ministries of Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands. Later that year he became the founding Director of the Drug Unit and developed a National Drug Strategy Master Plan for drug addiction. After seven years of working with the Drug Unit and sharing the Prophetic Word, in 2000, he returned to the US, joined the faculty at Howard University, Health Care Management Department where he served for over 16 years. He completed his Ph.D. in Organizational Communication/Health Communication at Howard University in 2007. During his tenure as Associate Professor at Howard University, he engaged in research, wrote peer-review journal articles and presented in national and international conferences. He served as President of the National Society of Allied Health in 2009-2012. He presently serves the University as an Adjunct Professor. All these experiences provided the inspiration for a seven-year journey in writing this book.
